Ikki’s poor magical ability leaves him at the bottom of Hagun Academy’s rankings. A duel with visiting princess Stella starts an unlikely partnership as both seek a place in the Seven Stars Sword Art Festival.
Ayase asks Ikki to teach her swordsmanship while he continues the selection matches. Trouble involving her family’s dojo draws him into a confrontation with the Sword Eater.
The selection matches approach their conclusion, with Touka standing between Ikki and a festival place. His family’s interference threatens both his progress and his relationship with Stella.
Season 1 ends here
Hagun’s representatives attend a joint training camp before the festival. An attack by Akatsuki forces Ikki and his companions to face dangerous opponents and divided loyalties.
The festival opens in Osaka with Stella still absent. Ikki’s first opponent is the reigning champion, while other formidable contenders enter the competition.
Stella returns to a tournament dominated by Akatsuki. A match against four opponents tests her training as Ikki’s friends confront a knight whose wishes alter events around him.
Two matches in one day put Ikki’s endurance under pressure. Sara’s ability to reproduce a familiar swordswoman’s strength creates an especially difficult challenge.
The semifinal matches bring Stella face to face with Ouma. Ikki must contend with Amane’s extraordinary ability to turn events to his advantage.
Ikki and Stella reach the match they promised each other at the start of their relationship. The festival final tests their growth as swordsmen and their resolve to win.
Ikki travels to Vermillion to meet Stella’s family. The country’s enthusiasm turns into a series of challenges that he must overcome to win their approval.
Preparations for a contest between Vermillion and Cradleland lead Ikki and Stella across the border. Or Gol’s interference turns a friendly competition into a threat to both countries.
Negotiations reduce the war to a contest between chosen Blazers. Stella seeks training from Edelweiss to prepare for opponents whose strength exceeds ordinary limits.
Stella and her allies challenge Or Gol’s representatives to protect Vermillion and its neighbors. Each knight enters the fighting with a different responsibility to fulfill.
Nene’s battle brings memories of her rivalry with Kurono into focus. Meanwhile, Stella’s advance toward Or Gol pushes the war into another dangerous phase.
The struggle against Or Gol reaches its decisive stage. Iris’s divided loyalties complicate Ikki and Stella’s efforts to bring the war to an end.
The aftermath of Or Gol’s actions disrupts governments around the world. Japan calls its student knights into service, bringing former tournament rivals together against a new danger.
Touka confronts a threat that places many lives at risk while testing the limits of her ability. Japan also prepares for an approaching force from overseas.
Tokyo remains under attack despite the defeat of an earlier threat. Ikki, Stella and their allies join its defense as Abraham and Islands begin another scheme.
Islands abducts Stella for an experiment, sending Ikki and his companions into a rescue operation. Their struggle brings the main story to its conclusion.
