Every arc, in brief

1Tokyo arrival*

Satan and Alciel reach Tokyo with little magic left and must earn enough to survive. The hero who pursued them also takes a human identity, keeping their old conflict close to Maou’s new job.

2New neighbors*

A new neighbor and a competing fast-food restaurant complicate Maou’s routine. Emi and Chiho become entangled in problems that extend beyond sales figures.

4Alas Ramus*

A young girl arrives through a portal and calls Maou and Emi her parents. Caring for her brings the two adversaries together and attracts attention from Ente Isla.

5Work at the beach*

Renovations leave Maou without his usual job or apartment. A temporary position at a beach house offers income, but visitors from the demon realm interrupt the summer work.

6A television and an angel*

Maou decides to spend his earnings on a television while Emi searches for news of her mother. The shopping trip becomes entangled with an angel’s activities in Tokyo.

8Return to work*

Maou returns to a renovated restaurant with a new café and opportunities for training. Chiho begins learning a form of communication magic with Suzuno’s help.

10Emi returns to Ente Isla*

Emi travels back to Ente Isla with Alas Ramus and fails to return as expected. While studying for a driving license, Maou encounters people who may explain her absence.

11The rescue journey*

Maou and Suzuno set out to rescue their missing companions. Emi’s situation in Ente Isla and the involvement of angels make the journey more complicated than crossing between worlds.

12Battle in Ente Isla*

Maou reaches Ente Isla without the powers he expected to recover. He must find another way to bring Emi and Ashiya home as the opposing forces approach a confrontation.

Season 2, part 2 ends here

13The rescue bill*

The rescue leaves Emi with expenses to repay and a job to replace. Meanwhile, Urushihara’s condition in hospital raises questions for the group.

14Daily routines and a proposal*

Maou tries to preserve his ordinary routine while Emi considers a different path. A proposal brings their practical concerns into the wider conflict.

15Lailah’s explanation*

Lailah explains her plans to the group, but Maou wants evidence before agreeing to help. Their attempt to understand her work takes them to Nerima.

16Employee training*

Maou pursues the training needed to become a full-time employee. His absence leaves Chiho and Emi facing the new year while the conflict beyond Japan continues.

17The spear expedition*

The group divides its efforts between restoring the Devil’s Castle and finding the spear needed for its plans. Maou remains in Japan, where work and personal relationships demand his attention.

18Career plans and the demon realm*

A setback at work disrupts Maou’s expectations for the future. News from Camio and a change in the restaurant’s management push him toward another decision.

19Chiho’s next step*

Chiho begins looking beyond her immediate daily life. The group’s efforts connect her future to the preparations already underway.

20Decisions before the confrontation*

Emi makes a decision as Maou continues his usual routines. Chiho takes a more active role in the plans that connect their lives in Japan to Ente Isla.

21Preparations for heaven*

Maou and Emi face changes in their working and living arrangements. Chiho’s actions help carry the group toward its confrontation with heaven.

22The final confrontation*

The group prepares for the confrontation with heaven while settling responsibilities in Japan. Maou and Emi must also decide what their lives will become afterward.
